Terms of use
The rules for using the FutureLights website and beta, in plain words.
Working draft, not yet reviewed
Who publishes FutureLights
The FutureLights website and software are published by To be completed, whose details are given in the legal notice. For any question: contact@future-events.fr.
A free beta
FutureLights is in beta: the software is provided free of charge, as is, while it is being developed. Features may change, be added or removed, and bugs may remain.
Beta spots open gradually, from the waiting list. Signing up only takes an email address and your consent.
The software runs on Windows, macOS and Linux; the console then opens in the browser of a phone or tablet on the same network.
Accounts
The FutureLights account (sign-in with Google) is optional: without it, the software works entirely on your PC. It is used for the online services: cloud backup, credits and the FutureLights AI. You can delete it at any time from My account.
An account may be suspended in case of abuse (for example to consume the AI in an automated way).
Cloud backup
Cloud backup is optional. Your shows are encrypted on your PC before upload: we cannot read them.
Keep your recovery key somewhere safe: without it, a backup cannot be restored, by you or by us.
During the beta, the service is free, within 1 GB per installation and 100 MB per backup. It may be interrupted or changed: always keep a copy of your shows on your PC or another medium.
You can delete one backup, or all of them, from FutureLights at any time.
Credits and plans
Coming soonCredits and paid plans are not on sale yet: payments are being tested (nothing is charged) and the prices shown are indicative. Terms of sale will be published before anything is sold.
Payments will be handled by Paddle, the authorised reseller that invoices and handles VAT: Paddle will appear on your statement.
An AI action holds its credits and only charges them when the answer is usable; otherwise nothing is charged.
AI features
AI features go through the FutureLights service, with nothing to set up. They cost credits and need an account linked to your PC.
The AI suggests, you decide: check each suggestion in preview before applying it to your fixtures.
Do not send photos of people or personal information in an AI request: only fixtures, manuals and the description of the mood are useful.
During the beta, AI features are offered on a trial basis, with no guarantee of availability or results.
Your installation and audience safety
You remain responsible for your lighting installation: rigging, power, cabling, fixture settings, and the use of strobes, lasers and smoke machines in line with the venue's rules and the regulations.
Test your show before the event. The simulator and 3D Studio help you prepare, but do not replace a test on site.
Liability
The software is provided as is, during its beta phase, with no guarantee of results. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for any interruption, data loss or indirect damage arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you.
Ownership
The FutureLights software, its name, its logo and the website content belong to their publisher.
Your shows belong to you: they stay on your PC, in an open format, and you can export them at any time.
Open-source libraries and components included in the software remain under their own licences.
Changes
These terms will evolve with the software. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent French courts may hear the matter.
