Community halls and clubs

Village hall lighting, made simple at last.

In many halls, fixtures sit unused on the rig because nobody remembers how to switch them on. FutureLights is free, takes an evening to learn and works with the gear that's already there.

CH 011Small budget

Free, and no new hardware to buy.

The full software is free, with no time limit and no account. It works with common USB DMX interfaces, FTDI-based interfaces and Art-Net or sACN nodes: often, the club already has what it needs.

You need a computer running Windows, macOS or Linux; the console then opens on any phone or tablet on the same network, with no app to install.

On a tablet, the console takes minutes to pick up.

CH 021For volunteers

Set the hall up once, let everyone use it.

One person sets up the hall's installation, once. After that, anyone can run the lights with big coloured buttons, without knowing anything about DMX.

CH 031Handing over

Shows that don't depend on one person.

Shows are stored in an open format, as readable files. They copy to a USB stick, back up easily and can be exported to QLC+, a free program: when the volunteer in charge hands over, nothing is lost.

Questions from halls and clubs

We know nothing about lighting: is this for us?

Yes. Read the “DMX for beginners” guide first, then add your fixtures: FutureLights prepares the button pages. Detailed programming can wait until you feel like it.

Our fixtures have lost their manuals.

Look the model up in the built-in library, which also draws on the Open Fixture Library, or create it by hand. If you find the manual as a photo or PDF, the AI can read the channel table for you (with the FutureLights AI, 1 credit per 2 pages).

Do we need internet in the hall?

No. Everything runs on the PC: control, programming, interfaces, 3D Studio. Only the AI features need a connection.
